Governor's Energy Office and BEDA announces Community Energy Coordinator

Grand County Business Economic Development Association (BEDA) was awarded a grant from the Governor's Energy Office (GEO) to fund a local Community Energy Coordinator (CEC) to drive efforts helping towns, counties, residents and businesses become more energy efficient in both Grand and Jackson counties. BEDA looks forward to working with the Governor's Energy Office to implement efforts to save energy, reduce energy bills and create jobs. The organization is excited to work with Grand and Jackson counties to bring the economic benefits of sustainable energy strategies to local businesses and our communities.  We feel these public outreach initiatives will bring economic stability and increase renewable energy installation benefits to the area. We are happy to announce that Liz McIntyre has accepted the position and is already busy working on the upcoming GEO grant cycle to bring monies into Grand and Jackson to generate jobs and promote the 'new energy economy'.  In her initial efforts, Liz coordinated outreach for rebate and incentive training sessions for industry professionals.  Currently Liz is assisting GEO with the upcoming efforts of RechargeColorado and will be providing information through the BEDA website. Liz will be sharing details and information of other energy efficient and renewable energy opportunities in the upcoming weeks. Feel free to contact Liz 970.509.9750 at if you have any questions.Rebecca McBride
